Tigers & Teddies Live is back with our second series! These conversations grew out of our new book ‘Sabre Tooth Tigers and Teddy Bears’, written by developmental psychologist Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk. She’ll be with us, knitting together insights across all our topics. And chair Gary Robinson will be back too, showing off his latest bow ties.
Teachers, schools and school communities across the country are increasingly interested in becoming trauma-informed. What does that mean and what does it look like in practice, especially at secondary level? That’s what we’re going to find out in this episode! We’ll be meeting members of two Scottish high schools: Clydebank High in Clydebank and Boclair Academy in Glasgow. Both schools have been working hard to put relationships at the centre of their practice and policy, and they’ve worked hard to keep them prominent during the return from COVID lockdown. We’ll get to hear their stories and their practical suggestions. We’re going to make sure that includes the stories of ‘toast’ and ‘problem bricks’, because these two stories bring to life how simple trauma-informed responses can be. It should be a fascinating morning. Our guests are already excited, and we trust our viewers will be too!
