The year 2025 marks a big moment in Scotland! We’re 20 years on from the start of our national journey to understand the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). It began in 2005 with the founding of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit.

We think this anniversary deserves to be marked, so we’re planning to do that all year long! We’re teaming up with lots of friends to offer a range of events that shine a light on actions taken by individuals and organisations. The enthusiasm for putting the knowledge of ACEs and trauma into practice is inspiring. We’re looking forward to helping ensure those stories are heard.

Here’s a taste of what we’ve got planned:

  • Podcast series ‘Taking Action’
  • Evening interviews
  • Lectures from leading voices
  • Screenings of the film Resilience
  • Book events
  • Theatrical performances

It all kicks off on 29 January 2025 at 7pm with our Launch Event! Our Events Page tells you how to book a place. It’s free and everyone is welcome. We’ll be screening our brand new graphic video, narrated by more than 50 Scottish voices.

It marks moments just like these:
