Scotland’s ACEs Journey Launch
29 January @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeThe year 2025 is a landmark year in Scotland.
A full 20 years have passed since our country set out on an unexpected national journey to make sense of the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). We plan to mark that achievement by hosting a range of activities across the year.
We’ll be screening the brand new graphic video we’ve created that traces that 20-year story. It features all sorts of organisations and individuals who have been involved in the journey, beginning with the founding of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit in 2005. The video is narrated by nearly 100 Scots voices! You can come along just to find out how all those accents have been woven together.
During the evening, we’ll hear from some of those who have contributed to the video, as well as from some who feature in the story it tells. We’ll gain a collective sense of where we’ve been – and of where we might like to go next. Rest assured that, afterwards, the video and its accompanying booklet will be available for everyone to share more widely.
Our host, Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, along with our whole team at connected baby and our friends, look forward to welcoming you all to a night of celebration and companionship. Everyone is welcome, whether you are brand new to ACEs or have been engaged in this work for a long time. You are already part of the story.
