Scaffolding is a process in which adults engage, almost without thinking, that helps our children expand their world. We may not have considered our spontaneous reactions to be all that important. It can feel odd to realise that something so ordinary is also remarkable. Yet that insight carries with it the potential for us to wonder: could we provide scaffolding for people with advanced dementia?
